Light pollution and our growing energy consumption is increasingly having a drastic impact on nature and humans. At the same time, the higher we build our cities, the more windy they become. Against this background I designed PAPILIO: A street light with an insect-friendly light spectrum, generating energy by using an integrated wind rotor.
In addition, controlled by an infrared motion sensor, the light is only activated when actually needed. With PAPILIO the climate-neutral energy production becomes an aesthetic play, enriching the public space – both during the day and at night.
