Fast fashion is ephemeral. Its ability to react to consumer trends quickly, and shorten production lines, has changed the way fashion is consumed. With new collections coming in every week, consumers have fallen into the vicious cycle of buying and discarding their clothes quickly. Many environmental issues today are caused by the fast fashion industry, both in the production process and its disposal. To counter such issues, some designers have focused their research on biodegradable materials that can translate into wearable garments, thus making fashion disposable.
