In cities worldwide, air pollution results in three million deaths every year.
Moss thrives well in the city, requires little maintenance and absorbs carbon dioxide.
To help reduce air pollution, Poppy designed a tile made of terracotta, an absorbent material. The tiles will be installed on exterior walls in public spaces.
The design will bring out the beauty of moss using organic patterns with multiple indentations to encourage growth. The presence of moss brings nature into the city, increasing a sense of well being, and encouraging a connection between people and their environment.
