Chest binding, most commonly done by transgender men and non-binary people is the process of flattening one’s breasts using tight garments, bandages or even tape to appear more masculine.
97.2% of people who wear chest binders experience negative health outcomes including back pain and even rib fractures.
Breathe is a smart chest binder that has shape-memory materials woven into the fabric.
When activated using a remote controller or app these smart materials loosen the garment making it easier for the wearer to take discreet breaks when they experience discomfort or pain.
