Megan’s children’s book, ‘Glow’, features Bertie, who sets out to rescue the moon.
His disability, which requires a prosthetic leg, is not mentioned within the text, nor specifically drawn attention to in the illustrations, it is simply part of him; treated equally just as any other character.
Megan firmly believes that introducing disability to children in a sensitive manner will positively impact their attitudes and mentality for life, whilst empowering those with disabilities.
The diversity of our society must be reflected within fiction. The importance of inclusion is paramount!
