By 2027 there will be 800 million dyslexics worldwide. Weaknesses in decoding words can result in a severe lack in self confidence in the classroom
While making mistakes can be embarrassing, its not just pride that suffers, it is learning too.
The Pearson Pen, a pen designed for dyslexics, connecting advances in smart pen innovation and existing spell checker software. The pen is fitted with optical character recognition technology. Highlight a written word to scan and the pen can display the correct spelling on its LED screen.
Each misspelt word is saved to a personal spelling cloud, it can play back the word that students struggled with and tutors can track the progress on the hub to identify where they could benefit from private development sessions.
