The beauty propaganda promoted to consumers creates a false ideal that can negatively impact our self-esteem. The effects of inauthentic marketing behavior are strong on adolescents, as they are developing their self-concepts. #TheRealDeal is a print campaign that empowers consumers to be mindful when mass media targets their insecurities for profit. It hopes to support consumers in making conscious decisions amid marketing messages that treat their insecurities as commodities. Consumers would see the posters anywhere cosmetic ads are displayed, like in the vicinity of shopping centers.
