The status quo or approaches of ‘now’ are challenged through this speculative and research-led design approach, as the predicted becomes the norm.

Urban sites currently without water frontage or direct access will become the beneficiary of these features, here lays a challenge, as waterfront sites often become a target for commercial gains.

This project instead explores how these newly formed edges could provide a means to extend the urban fabric beyond the notional shoreline and provide an opportunity to learn, research, dwell and thrive post-2050 where land will meet sea.
