The word ‘Gentrification’ was originally used by British sociologist Ruth Glass in 1964. It defines as the process of changing a house or district so it fits within a middle class taste.

In Berlin, Germany the process of gentrification has come around later as the city was hugely affected by war and the building and destroying of the Berlin Wall.

After visiting the city back in September, and staying in Prenzlauer Berg an area originally home to artists andsquatters, has now become a very expensive place to live.Laurel’s animation aims to highlight the issue.
