In Brazil, murders carried out by police violence do not constitute as an isolated event. The State exterminates those who are considered enemies of the nation: blacks, the poor, young people and residents of the periphery. ‘Permission to Kill’ aims not only to denounce this abuse of authority, but also to expose the harsh reality that millions of Brazilians suffer almost daily. The flag is a visual symbol representative of a population erased from society and it carries real stories of violation on the right to life. It is positioned against the dehumanisation and trivialisation of evil.
