Every year around 500 people have reported being injured by car-dooring in the UK. This is where a car door is swung open onto on coming cyclists.

From Government advise cyclists should cycle a doors width from parked cars yet this puts them in the middle of the road.

In turn motorists on the road often get frustrated as they do not realise the reasoning behind the cyclist’s road positioning.

By re-designing a car parking space I want to make cyclists aware of the door zone whilst positively enforcing the reasoning behind a cyclist being positioned in the middle of the road.
