Since the beginning of 2018, 50 million cubic meters of damaged wood were counted in forests throughout Germany, as a consequence of climate change.
In Bavaria alone, damaged timber accounts for 41 percent of the total logging.
Due to drought, bug infestations and storm damage, more than 110,000 hectares of forest have been lost throughout Germany.
Felix Pöttinger teamed up with local craftsmen and forestries to build a pavilion from damaged timber for the Munich Creative Business Week to provide a forum for constructive dialogue and raising awareness.
