With an average population age of 29.5 years old, the youth of Kosovo can make a significant difference towards the economic and social growth of the country.

With over half of Kosovo youth unemployed, Speak Up Kosovo is a nonprofit event organization, that offers a venue and an audience for aspiring artists and students to exhibit their work and express their voices.

Speak Up Kosovo aims to encourage young people to engage with their community through the arts, giving voice to the political, social and economic issues that they face.

Oral History Kosovo presents interviews with Women Activists at Speak Up Kosovo this evening at 19:00! FREE to youth 26 and younger! American School of KosovaNazlije Bala was born in Pristina on May 17, 1967. She has a degree in Economics from the University of Prishtina. A member of the leadership of Vetëvendosje in charge of women’s issues, she is a human rights activist and security expert. She has served as an adviser to the Kosovo government and held senior positions in international agencies such as the United Nations Development Programme and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. She was one of the first activists in the Council for the Defense of Human Rights and Freedom in Kosovo in 1989.
