Women in the film industry are less likely to get hired in leadership roles. It is so important to have women in positions of control when it comes to filmmaking, as women provide a different perspective and have different stories to tell than men. Involving under-represented directors and female filmmakers will change what we see on screen, which ultimately affects our behaviours and decision-making in our own lives. It’s time to change what filmmakers look like for emerging talent in the film industry.
