Creating impact in collaboration with Made in Hackney Impact, Partnerships

Made In Hackney is an award winning community kitchen and cookery school. Since launching in 2012 they have helped over 6,000 Londoners gain vital food skills, and they are continuing to grow. In November they launched their latest crowd funding campaign, with the aim of raising £45,000 to help build a new kitchen and cookery school. In turn, this could help 10,000 more people gain skills to lead healthier happier lives.

We’re proud to have supported Made In Hackney’s crowd funding campaign with the help of L&Co Design, by designing a wonderful reward for their backers – an interactive, festive recipe book written by plant-based chef Anton Petrov. Well done to our intern and Creative Conscience 2016 winner Medeea Lascar who recently graduated from Ravensbourne, taking the role as lead designer and bringing the interactive, festive recipe book to life with the help of Creative Conscience designer Liam Dargan.


Creative Conscience were like our knights in shining design armour. We needed a beautiful, professional job doing in a very short space of time and they delivered, and then some. The recipe book was beautiful and we’ve had lots of positive feedback from our donors who received it as a thank-you – many of them feeling inspired to make the recipes in the booklet. When donors feel they are appreciated and rewarded with something this personal and special it helps us build better relationships with our supporters and keep them onboard and engaged for longer. Creative Conscience were also really easy and smooth to work with, treating us with as much respect, consciousness and detail as I would expect from a paying client. We can’t thank you enough!

The Made In Hackney crowdfunding campaign was highly successful, blowing their £45,000 target out of the water and raising a total of £76,693.
