Simon started his practice in 1984 with offices in London and Suffolk. Since its inception it has undertaken a wide range of work in the community, residential and workplace sectors, including new build projects on urban and rural sites, interior design for a variety of uses, exhibition, furniture and product design. It has also completed projects in Germany, Japan and the USA as well producing designs for sites in Australia, China, Cyprus and Singapore.
While the practice has always been small, it has won 36 architectural and design awards, including twice winning the RIBA Stephen Lawrence Prize for the best UK building costing under £1,000,000 and twice being nominated for the biennial Mies van der Rohe Award for the best building in Europe.
In addition to his design work Simon was appointed in 2001 by CABE (Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment) to join its ‘Enabling Panel’. Currently, he is also a design advisor to the London Borough of Brent, Peterborough City Council and the County of Suffolk. He has also acted as an assessor for the AIA (American Institute of Architects), Civic Trust, RIBA and the Young Architect of the Year Awards.
