Polly is a documentarian, film-maker and writer. During fifteen years as an award-winning film-maker for the BBC, Channel Four, PBS and the Discovery Channel, she tackled many subjects including: war crimes, artistic reclusion, conspiracy theories, organised crime, political terrorism, cryptography and biblical history.
In 2011, she was awarded a Royal Society of Literature Jerwood Award to support the writing of her widely acclaimed first book, The Society of Timid Souls or, How to be Brave. The book was long-listed for the Guardian First Book Award and was a Sunday Times Book of the Year.
Polly is a Faculty member at The School of Life in London, in conjunction with whom she recently published Risk Wise: Nine Everyday Adventures, and is currently working on a third book about change, due out in 2016.
