Philip Hunt is Animation Director and co-owner of STUDIO AKA, an animation production company based in London, known worldwide for its innovation and idiosyncratic excellence.
A graduate of Central Saint Martin’s and postgraduate of the Royal College of Art in London, Philip has created an eclectic range of commercials and animation projects during his career. His directing work includes the multi-award winning short film AH POOK IS HERE – an interpretation of recordings by the late William S. Burroughs and a diverse body of advertising films for studio clients ranging from BMW, Orange, [RED], Dyson, ONE.org, Kvadrat and Herman Miller. Philip more recently adapted and directed a thirty minute animated film entitled LOST AND FOUND – based on Oliver Jeffers award-winning children’s book – which has to date has won 61 international awards including a BAFTA for Best Children’s Animation.
AKA has a reputation for finding appropriately unique & tailored solutions to creative propositions that see them working closely with some of the best creative agencies in the world. The studio comprises a 50 strong team of directors, designers, animators and technical artists, who create and consult on projects with a strong emphasis on story, design and character.
